This year at the Papaya Young Creators competition, Best Film awards will go to winning entries in each of the categories, Special Prizes will be given to selected contestants and their associates by Main Partners, while persons involved in the production of the competition films will be eligible for Individual Prizes.
The biggest change this year is the elimination of the Grand Prix award. The initiative’s growing momentum, alongside the categories taking increasingly different directions, prompted us to replace the Grand Prix with Best Film prizes awarded in each of the five competition categories.
The decision to pull the Grand Prix from the competition influenced the value of First Degree Prizes, which, for the first time in contest history, will differ by category. The First Degree Prizes, or production budgets, have been adjusted to reflect the challenges that the finalists will face in their selected categories.
First Degree Prizes will be awarded to every person whose treatment will advance to the third and final stage of the competition. The prizes will be issued following the signing of contracts regarding IP rights for the explication and the resulting film.
Finalists producing commercials for Main Partner brands will be eligible for a Best Film award in the Branded Stories category, which comes with a cash prize of 20,000 PLN (gross).
Finalists producing music videos for partner artists will be eligible for a Best Film award in the Music Stories category, which comes with a cash prize of 20,000 PLN (gross).
Finalists producing films for Main Partners brands in the TikTok Branded Stories category will be eligible for a Best Film award in the TikTok Branded Stories category, which comes with a cash prize of 20,000 PLN (gross).
Filmmakers who submit their film in the TikTok Unique Stories category will be eligible for a Best Film award in the TikTok Unique Stories category, which comes with a cash prize of 10,000 PLN (gross).
Furthermore, persons involved with the production of the finalist films will be eligible for Individual Prizes for Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Production, Best Costume/Set design, and Best Idea, all of which come with a 5,000 PLN cash prize. The audience will be selecting the winner of the Audience Choice Award.
At the Grand Finale of the ninth edition of the contest, alongside statutory awards, eligible contestants will also be receiving special prizes from the competition Partners .
